These products runs under Windows NT, XP, Vista, 2003. All paths are
Unicode
(so far that I've seen with protocol capture). I thought in some
marketing brochures
somewhere we stated we don't support Win9x?

Both products allows traversing paths and manipulate files under the
shares.

Looks good.

Is there any concern that adding this support will allow unsupported
clients to connect to the filer? For example, if Win9x logons flows
were required to support one of these products we would run the risk of
those clients connecting and crashing us.

Do these products use Unicode path or DOS, or both? Do they ever
explore paths below the level of a share? If they use DOS and they go
below share level we need to test volumes with alternate language
settings.

You need to test non-Ascii characters in the share paths. If someone
could add a Share with a non-ASCII name it would break our nfxsh later
on. Part of the testing should include using nfxsh to examine the
changes made by this tool.

Dear Esteemed Colleagues,

Here's the first cut of the functional spec. Comments are warmly
welcome.

Thanks,
